It is your responsibility to ensure that any landscaping or surface finishing does not encroach into Hydro Hawkesbury's overhead or underground electrical distribution system or easements once the proposed electrical servicing design is approved. The shrub or tree location and expected growth must be considered.
Starting June 17, 2013, under Bill 8, you must communicate with ONTARIO ONE CALL to obtain an underground locate. Call 1-800-400-2255 to put in your request.
Underground networks of services including power lines might be buried on your property. Accidentally hitting one can cause injury, property damage and inconvenient outages. Plan before you dig.
If you are planning to put in fence posts, plant a tree, excavate for a pool, deck or a new addition then please call to have the service lines located. A locate will show where any underground hydro lines may be so injury to persons or damage to equipment may be avoided.
Call Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255 to book your FREE service appointment. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please call five full business days before you dig.
Having your utilities located before you dig is required by law under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (see Construction Projects 228).
